Understanding the systems behind the data.

Early work in mining and automation created direct exposure to instrumentation, industrial networks, radars, cameras, monitoring sensors, and the realities of operating technical systems in demanding environments.

Seeing how software behaves outside the lab.

Years supporting production applications, SQL databases, virtualization, firewalls, switches, VPNs, and private cloud environments led naturally into building enterprise mobile and Windows applications for geomatics and field operations.

Learning to own the complete product lifecycle.

Work across C#/.NET, REST APIs, web and mobile applications, Docker, automated testing, CI/CD, performance, and production support developed a practical engineering approach: clear architecture, observable systems, and maintainable solutions without unnecessary complexity.

04 / GEOTECHNICAL PRODUCT LEADERSHIP

2024 to present

Bringing software leadership back to monitoring.

Mateus later returned to geotechnical monitoring software, helping develop and mature products used in mining and civil engineering. The work spans .NET, Angular, SQL, background processing, integrations, data visualization, and cloud or on-premises deployment.

He remains hands-on with systems that process monitoring data from vendor APIs, GNSS, Robotic Total Stations, and other field technologies—translating operational requirements into dependable product capabilities.

Creating SignalCore

A product shaped by both sides of the system.

SignalCore combines domain experience with the discipline of modern product engineering. It is being built around explicit operational rules, a complete Signal lifecycle, and the principle that meaningful actions and decisions should remain historically understandable.

The platform’s direction includes threshold evaluation, notifications, ownership, work queues, inspections, TARP response actions, spatial context, permissions, audit history, and the immutable Signal Timeline that connects them.

Underneath that product model is a deliberate technical foundation using .NET, ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework Core, Angular, SQL Server, Docker, automated testing, structured logging, and clear architectural boundaries.

The technology is important. The operational outcome is the point.

After something important is detected, people must understand it, establish responsibility, investigate, perform field work, follow procedures, collect evidence, escalate, decide, and close the issue responsibly.
