Signal Core is created by Mateus Morais, a Tech Lead and Senior Software Engineer whose experience spans mining, geotechnical monitoring, industrial automation, field infrastructure, and full-stack product development.

Where it began

“Monitoring systems are often very good at collecting data and generating alarms. The gap is what happens afterward.”

Mateus began working in mining in 2009 and later became responsible for geotechnical monitoring within an automation department. The work was practical and multidisciplinary: wireless networks, cameras, radars, monitoring sensors, software evaluation, integrations, and the field infrastructure required to keep critical data moving.

Working in mining during a period of heightened industry focus on monitoring and response reinforced the seriousness of the work. Reliable instrumentation matters, but so do the decisions, Inspections, evidence, escalation, and accountability that follow an important alarm.

That distinction—between detecting a condition and managing the organizational response—became the foundation for Signal Core.

Mateus later returned to geotechnical monitoring software, helping develop and mature products used in mining and civil engineering.

He remains hands-on with monitoring data, field technologies, integrations, and product delivery—translating operational requirements into dependable capabilities.
